But anybody who has previous experience with map editors or 3D modeling likely won’t have too high of a learning curve. Techland has provided a short tutorial video that demonstrates the basics of the Dying Light 2 map editor and takes viewers through the creation of a sample project. Those who wish to participate in the “Shape Your City” contest and want a real chance at winning won’t be tossed in blind. There will be 10 rewards of $5,000 each, one ASUS ROG laptop for the creator who gains the most unique subscribers, and AMD will select another person to win a 6800XT GPU and Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU. From now through January 20, 2023, anybody can enter for a chance to win one of 12 prizes. To promote the beta release of custom map support in Dying Light 2, Techland has teamed up with mod.io to hold the “Shape Your City” contest with a $50,000 prize pool. The full release of the editor will be implemented in the console editions of the game as well and is expected sometime in 2023. The beta version of the custom map editor can be accessed by downloading the Dying Light 2 Developer Tools, which is available on the game’s Steam and Epic Games Store pages.
